These are usually a simply constructed 9" block wall on a concrete foundation or 'ringbeam'. The walls are rendered and the floor is screeded. Deep ends are created by screeding the pool floor as a 'hopper' shape.
The pool retains water using a liner. This is made from UV stabilised PVC and is available in a large choice of colours and patterns.
Aquapleasure will attend site and measure the pool-shell to order your liner tailor-made to suit.
Panel-and-liner pools:
This is similar to a block and liner pool but the walls are constructed using a polymer panel. The floor is still screeded and a liner is installed.
Reinforced concrete pools:
These are generally the most expensive construction method! Pools can be constructed in several ways but fundamentally the floor will be dense vibrated concrete approximately 300mm thick with dense vibrated concrete walls approximately 150mm (minimum) to 225mm thick (excluding permanent shuttering thickness).
The pool structure must utilise the correct amount and size of steel reinforcement to be successful. The walls are rendered and the floor is screeded; a variety of finishes can then be applied: large tiles, mosaic tiles (more usual), pool paint (choice of colours), Quartzone, marbelite or even a 'pebble finish'.
Indoor pools:
These differ from outdoor pools in one main respect. There is a need with most indoor pools and some enclosed pools for air-heating, dehumidification and fresh air ventilation. These considerations are often known collectively as 'environmental control'.
If you would like the appropriate equipment calculated and quoted we would be happy to do so.
These calculations are best done well before the building is designed as provision must be made for the power supply, drainage, underfloor ducting (if required), flow-and-return pipework and space for the machinery itself.
The criteria for most equipment is based on the surface area of the pool, planned air and water operating temperatures, air-volumes, bather load and use of an efficient cover.
Enclosures:
There are many enclosures available to suit most budgets. From inflatable 'domes' to motorised polycarbonate buildings and log cabins there are many ways to extend your season.
Please ask for details and prices to extend your season and maximise your investment.
